Josh learns to ski!

Josh hits the slopes....

Yesterday, Curt took Joshua skiing for the first time. Our little Magic Mountain Ski resort offers a beginner lift called "The Magic Carpet Ride" It is free for kids six and under and Curt only had to pay five dollars. The lift is basically like a moving sidewalk that you stand on and it slowly moves you up the hill. At the top, you step off and then ski down and do it all over again. It is a perfect way for a little guy to learn. Josh said he had a great time. He woke us up this morning by telling us that he dreamed about skiing last night. It must have been a fun day!
Josh started the day with the strap on his skis to help them stay pointed in the right direction. By the end of the day he had removed the strap and mastered the art of turning. Stoping was a bit slower but he usually managed to stop on his own. In this video, he is not being "clothes lined" by a stranger. It is actually a friend of ours helping Josh to stop before he heads into the road. Josh does great skiing down the hill though! Good job Joshua....

I'm so impressed that you're getting him started young!! Very cool!!!

I guess that's a definite advantage to living in Idaho over Arizona, huh? That white powdery stuff called snow!!!

Very cool! :D

How fun for Josh! It looks like he was enjoying it. We took the boys last year and they loved it. But for us, it will only be a few times a year. So fun that you can do it often.
