Relay for Life!

My friends, Jenny, Shanna and I were able to go and participate in the Rely for life fund raiser for the American Cancer Society. It was the final event in order to help fund cancer research. A few weeks ago, I helped teach a two hour spin-a-thon at the YMCA. It was a successful event and a lot of fun. For the relay for life, we walked a track that was lit with luminaries that were dedicated to cancer survivors and cancer victims. Each of us dedicated our walk to someone special in our lives who have been affected by cancer. It was a somber but hopful evening, and especially nice to spend with good friends.

Kloe's new bike

It is no fun to get a new bike for your birthday when your birthday is in January. So we set aside Kloe's birthday money and as soon as it looked like it might be turning to spring in Idaho, we got Kloe her new bike! We went to the store and had her try riding several different types. It only took a few minutes and she was riding all over the store on this one, we knew we had a winner. All that was left to do was find a pretty pink and purple princess helmet and a princess bell for her to ring, and she was all set! Kloe loves riding her bike, and asks to do so every time we get a sunny day. Happy Birthday Kloe!

Mothers Day!

Mothers day this year was doubly special because it was also our 18th wedding anniversary. Curt and I had a nice date night on Saturday night. Then on Sunday, I woke up to a Mothers day breakfast and came home from church to find these beautiful flowers. We all packed up a picnic lunch and went outside and ate in our camper. Curt took the kids inside and I was able to have a cool, quiet afternoon nap. Who could ask for a better day.

Bahamas

Curt and I were able to take a fun vacation over spring break. It was a cruise to the Bahamas. It was definitely filled with adventure. When we checked in at the airport we were told by Delta that our flight had been canceled, instead of going to Miami today, we were going to San Francisco tomorrow! So instead of sandy beaches we spend our first day in China town! Finally we made it to Miami and were able to board the ship. Our first port of call was Freeport, Grand Bahama Island. We spent time shopping and walking on the beach. Next we went to Nassau where I was able to swim with the dolphins. Our final port was suppose to be a beach day of snorkeling and sunshine, but bad weather changed that plan and we had to spend the day at sea. We still had a wonderful time with our good friends, Jason and Shanna. We ate tons of good food and had a nice time just being together.

Josh and Kloe have breakfast with Santa!

The Saturday after Thanksgiving our little city holds a breakfast with Santa. Families can come and eat breakfast while singing jingle bells and taking a turn sitting on Santa's lap. Kloe was completely terrified of Santa and would not go near him unless Mommy went too. This was not a big surprise since she won't even go to her Grandpas. She stopped crying long enough to catch her breath and they snapped the picture, so she doesn't look too upset. Josh managed to tell Santa that he wanted a hot wheel car for Christmas. Josh, Grandpa and I ate our yummy pancake breakfast. Kloe stood on the bench and played with everything on the table until she spilled her milk. It really was a fun morning, even with a busy, almost two year old in tow! Kloe was too busy crying to tell Santa what she wanted for Christmas this year, but I have a feeling the big guy just might have some surprises in store for our sweet little girl!
